“I wasn’t looking for this shot. I was looking for something else entirely — until the dunes glowed and everything stopped.”

The Maspalomas dunes at sunset have a quality that surprises you even when you’re standing in them. The light turns the sand from beige to copper to deep amber in minutes. With the tripod set low and the wide-angle stretched across the ridge, I had one window before the colour was gone.

This was the frame — the ridge line cutting diagonally through the composition, the sun balanced on the horizon, the sky in full burn above it. A composition I didn’t plan for, found in the middle of looking for something else. Now available as the First Light Gran Canaria print, brought to life on your wall.
